BAYHYDUR 401-70 MPA is a hydrophilically modified aliphatic polyisocyanate based on isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI). It is supplied at approximately 70% in 1-methoxypropylacetate-2 solvent. BAYHYDUR 401-70 MPA has a NCO content of 9.4% and non-volatile content of 70%. It has a viscosity of approximately 1500 mPa.s and color value of 60. BAYHYDUR 401-70 MPA is mainly used as the co-reactant for aqueous polyol binders. Due to its hydrophilic character, BAYHYDUR 401-70 MPA can be easily emulsified in the aqueous phase. When used in aqueous two-component polyurethane coatings and sealants, BAYHYDUR 401-70 MPA improves the properties such as resistance to chemicals and solvents providing durable protection for infrastructure.
