BELSIL DM 50

BELSIL DM 50 is a linear, non-reactive, unmodified polydimethylsiloxane. It is characterized by low surface tension and a high spreading coefficient. Due to its flexible polymer backbone, BELSIL DM 50 has high permeability to gases like water vapor and oxygen which allows skin respiration. BELSIL DM 50 is widely used in formulations where it imparts a hydrophobic, protective yet breathable barrier to the skin, simultaneously minimizing stickiness. It reduces whitening and imparts a soft emolliency to the skin. Formulations with BELSIL DM 50 have better spreading properties and can be easily distributed on the skin.
